Betty Jean Covington, 85, longtime resident of Duncan, passed away on Friday, April 6th in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 10th in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Ross & Rev. Steve Snodgrass officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
Betty was born August 15, 1926 in Duncan to Henry E. & Carrie (Creel) Ross. She graduated from Empire High School and attended Oklahoma City Business College. She was a faithful wife, mother and grandmother. Her sweet, gentle spirit was felt by all who knew her. She's now with her precious Lord who was always first in her life. Betty married Billy J. Covington on May 11, 1945 at The First Nazarene Church here in Duncan.
Betty is survived by her husband Bill of the home. One son Mike Covington & wife June of Duncan, one daughter Rebecca Jean Patterson & husband Milton of Kendrick, ID. and one brother Rev. Tony Ross & wife Marge of Lake Charles, LA. Four grandchildren Carrie Patterson, Micheal Covington Jr. & wife Shelly, Carrie Ralls & husband Jack, Darren Covington & wife Amber. Three great-grandchildren Jewel Covington, Sidney Covington and Avery Covington.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her twin brother Bob Ross and brother Felix Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Darren Covington, Micheal Covington Jr., Jack Ralls, Milton Patterson, Steve Ross Bobby Ross. Honorary bearers will be J.R. Roundtree,Don Covington, Mordell Trammell, Jerry Hale, Larry Thomas.
